BIG BROTHER WEB DIRECTORY

WEBMASTER’S BLOG – BB 9

04/28/08 – After Big Brother 9 – I usually re-evaluate my pre-season impressions of the house guests, now that the season is over. Here are my post-season impressions, in RED:

Adam – Seems full of himself, especially on the commercial airing currently. Mr. “Has His Own Label”. I got this wrong – Adam was a sweet guy.

Alex  – Cute but seems very full of himself. His dad died in 9/11, so we’ll have plenty of “sob story” I’m sure (sorry but I’m getting sick of reality shows with sob stories – exactly the reason I stopped watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition years ago!). I don’t remember Alex that much, but I don’t think he was full of himself.

Allison – Seems nice but maybe too nice. Maybe a goody-two-shoes. A gambling addiction and won/lost $5 million? How is that even possible? Allison was definitely not a goody-two-shoes, but she did have an attitude.

Amanda – Attractive and seems nice. Everyone assumes she’s “deaf”? I don’t get it. I guess she was nice, but annoying.

Chelsia – Cute and seems like a nice person.  Whoa! Was I wrong on this one, or what!?!?

Jacob – Seems like a nice and normal guy, so what is he doing on this show? And what’s with his left eye – lazy or not? Not enough info on Jacob, but I don’t think he’s “normal”.

James – Very very strange, but he likes it that way. I don’t. Looks like he’s starving for attention. Bingo! Hit that one on the head.

Jen – Seems outgoing and like a good person. Teaching Special Ed isn’t easy and not for everyone. Seems like the nicest girl there. I liked Jen and did think she was nice.

Joshuah – Looks like Leo DiCaprio and I hate the “h” at the end of his name. Seems like an obnoxious kind of guy. He says he “bi” but if he’s “bi”, then I am the Queen of England. Yes, Josh turned out to be obnoxious.

Matt – A former Fear Factor contestant, who was probably recruited and didn’t have to audition, so we automatically don’t like him. Plus he seems snobby and has horse teeth. Need I say more? I ended up liking Matty best of all. Horse teeth and all. Not snobby in the least.

Natalie – For someone “religious”, she is sure showing a lot of booby in that photo! Oh, I hear she was a stripper for 5 years. She likes animals too. If it weren’t for the bible thumping stuff, I think I’d like her a lot. I liked her in spite of the bible thumping.

Neil – Good looking (at least his photo was – he’s not in person), gay, and seems successful. Another snob? Who knows? He left too soon.

Parker – Seems even stranger than any of the others. The hair has to go. He is butt ugly too. Yes, butt ugly, and yes, a little strange. Bad attitude.

Ryan – Seems down-to-earth if not exactly a brain. Probably the most normal? Bingo! Definitely the most normal, but it didn’t help him win.

Sharon – Might seem shallow to some, but her favorites are similar to mine. I like her so far. She seems smart in the video. Yes, very smart and I ended up liking her through the end of the show.

Sheila – Seems like the most interesting one of all. A former Penthouse Pet of the Year and the oldest house guest. She’s gotta be one of my favorites. Not at first, but she did end up being one of my favorites.

Here are my rankings of Most to Least Favorite, summarized for the whole season. No surprises here; I liked Ryan the best, followed closely by Adam:

04/27/08 – Episode 33 – The Finale – Well, I was so totally wrong. I thought Ryan would take it and Adam practically swept it. I am happy for him but my House Guest Ranker still has Ryan in 1st Place, which means he probably deserved it more (from winning competitions, etc.) and so I am a little disappointed. This if the first time my House Guest Ranker didn’t predict the winner. I was also hoping Matty or Natalie would win the Jury Prize, so of course James the d*ckhead won. I guess people think he needs the money or something. Well, Big Brother 10 starts July 13 (one week late), but it’s not enough time for me…  I need a vacation from Big Brother that lasts more than 2 months! Help! Well, in any case, see you all back here for Big Brother 10!

04/23/08 – Episode 32 – The Final HoH and Eviction – Sorry to see Sheila evicted, but she started to get on my nerves with all her crying. It was too much. Ryan and Adam and ranked #1 and #2 (obviously in my house guest ranker) and Ryan has a 100+ point lead. He is the clear favorite according to my chart. Part of me wants Adam to win because I like him more, but I think Ryan deserves it more for winning crucial HoHs and PoVs and really controlling everything near the end of the game. However, I always predict how the votes will go, and here is my prediction – by a vote of 5 to 2, I predict RYAN is the winner!:

04/22/08 – Episode 31 – Live Veto and Eviction Meetings – Very thrilled to see Sheila staying, but surprised nonetheless. The whole episode was edited to make you think Sharon was staying. I don’t believe that Ryan trusted Adam to evict Sheila, because he didn’t react at all when it happened. I think somehow the old alliance remained and Ryan, Sheila, and Adam decided to go final 3. My ranker predicts Ryan will win. This endurance competition is geared toward him – he has very strong arms (in case you haven’t noticed) and is not hanging from anything. I still want Adam and Sheila in the final 2, but I and my ranker predict Ryan will win Big Brother 9.

04/20/08 – Episode 30 – The Mini – Not happy to see Sheila nominated, and surprised that Ryan nominated Sharon. Sharon has now tied the record for the most nominations ever in single season, 6.

04/16/08 – Episode 29 – House Meeting… in the Bathroom – Sorry to see Natalie go, especially after they made it look like she might stay. Not sure why the guys decided to have Sheila split the tie – it doesn’t really benefit them. I was glad that she wasn’t blindsided by the eviction – she had enough trouble with being evicted, let alone being shocked like that. I was also glad to have Ryan win the HoH – I was rooting for him, so I guess it means I like him more than Adam… or else Adam has won enough already. This season might set a new record for number of episodes – we are already at 29 and there’s 2 weeks left – that’s 3 more next week followed by 2, I believe, as it usually ends on a Tuesday. That would make 34. BB8 had 33 episodes, and BB7 only had 28 episodes!

04/15/08 – Episode 28 – Happy Birthday, Sheila – I was glad for Adam winning the PoV… but poor Natalie.  I really think she’s a strong player and would have loved to see her win, if she didn’t get on everyone’s nerves and make some critical mistakes by tattling on people, telling different stories to different people, and so on. I think she’ll be floored by being evicted, but I hope she understands it’s just a game. But who will win the whole thing? Ryan can’t survive the inevitable endurance competition that brings the house guests from three down to the final 2. Sharon will invariably be evicted before that (she’s still not in the “right” alliance). That leaves Sheila and Adam. If they are the final 2, I can see people voting for Adam because he’s well-liked and didn’t really make enemies in the house (not that Sheila did, but she’s not as well-liked). However, did either one have a great strategy that put them there? Of those two, only Sheila commanded major moves in the game (or at least caused them to happen, if not commanded them) when she wasn’t even HoH. Therefore, I think Sheila would deserve the win.

04/13/08 – Episode 27 – What Would Jesus Do? – For the first time, I think, in all of Big Brother history, I would be happy with any of the remaining 5 house guests winning the whole thing. That being said, Nat should have come down from the HoH glass box sooner, after making a deal. Another mistake that I think will cost her in the end. Plus she can get kinda annoying at times. Sharon is nominated for the 4th week in a row – I think that’s a record, but I’m not sure. Not sure which website to look at to confirm it.

04/09/08 – Episode 26 – Can You Handle the Truth? – So so glad that Jackass, I mean James, is out of the house!!! Finally! Unfortunately, Natalie is making some mistakes in her effort to win – telling different stories to different people is bound to come back and bite her, and they all finally realize she’s the strongest player. Hopefully it won’t matter if she wins enough competitions, which I think she can do. Also, remember, the BB Fast Forward episode is coming up – at least I think it is. It should have been held already, but I can’t remember when it usually is.

04/08/08 – Episode 25 – Satan’s Tongue Got to Me – Glad Adam saw the light and James did not, and James is up on the block. Kudos to the editors of Big Brother, by the way – excellent editing this season. And I’m not just saying that because I met someone whose friend is an editor on the show. To me, the “evil” side of the house (James, Sharon) isn’t as evil as it has been in years past. It pales by comparison. In a way, that’s a good thing – but in a way, it’s less exciting. Did I see Ryan wearing The Patch to quit smoking? I hope so.

04/06/08 – Episode 24 – Most Truth is Spoken Through Jest – In a way, Adam’s nominations of Sheila and Sharon make sense. That way, if James win PoV, his word is tested – will he use it or will he not, as he promised? If anyone else wins PoV, they should be removing Sheila from nomination and Adam should nominate James. If Adam wins PoV, however… what will happen? It does make the game more interesting but it’s a little frustrating not to see James up on the block.

04/02/08 – Episode 23 – Cry It Out – GLAD to see Joshuah go! Or should I say GLAAD to see him go! Josh was Vomit City during his exit speech and interview with Julie. Puhleeeease! Natalie is now my new favorite. She is smart and deserved her #1 ranking all those weeks. She probably would have won HoH tonight if she could have competed for it. Go Nat! I am even picking her to win the whole thing. Adam is nice but not as good at competitions (although he’s won HoH twice). Ryan, my previous pick to win it all, is terrible at numbers and at most competitions.

04/01/08 – Episode 22 – Boo Hoo, Dude! (aka The Black Underwear Tantrum) – James wasbeing so immature, but what else did I expect from him, other than throwing a tantrum. By the way, if Ryan doesn’t stop sitting on the pool table… Anyway, I blame Ryan for losing the PoV to James. It’s ridiculous – they need to back door him. And now Joshuah is arranging for Sharon’s eviction – it sucks because I like Sharon. It’s time for Josh to go, but it doesn’t look like it will happen. However, how do you think Adam and Sheila will react when they find out Nat and Ryan were conspiring behind their backs? It won’t be pretty!

03/30/08 – Episode 21 – Team Christ in the HouseQueen Joshuah is really getting on my nerves. He’s the one that’s “holier than thou” in the house, even though he’s not one of the Bible Buddies. Glad to see Natalie not make a deal with the devil (James) and nominate the two biggest threats, Joshuah and James.

03/26/08 – Episode 20 – A Huge Raging Bitch – And what a bitch she is, really. A poor sport, a lousy Big Brother player, and a bitch to boot! Anyway, I am thrilled that Natalie won HoH. She HAS been playing so much smarter since Matt left. She’s not letting people tell her what to do anymore, not like when she didn’t know what she was doing and voted to let James back in. I predict she nominates James and Sharon (only Sharon because it ensures James’ eviction). Too bad, so sad.

03/25/08 – Episode 19 – The Kid Has Got 9 Lives – How rude of James to even ask Chelsia to throw the PoV competition. It was good to see Evil Dick again, but he didn’t really seem into it at all. Usually when I don’t like an alliance, I don’t like any of the members. However, this season, it’s clear I like Sharon. If she won the whole thing, I would genuinely be happy for her. Obviously I didn’t want James to win the PoV, so we’ll have to wait another week (at least) to get rid of his ass.

03/23/08 – Episode 18 – Way to Freakin’ Go, Baller! – That “21” game was hard – I don’t think I would have been able to do it; in fact, I tried playing along and couldn’t do it. Thankfully Adam nominated James and Chelsia, as I suggested. He had a good speech too, mentioning that they are working together, also as I suggested. Way to go, Baller!

03/19/08 – Episode 17 – I’m a Tough Kid. Stop Crying – Very very disappointed to see Matty go! He was my favorite. Sheila, once again, orchestrating the voting so that it resulted in a tie – yet she is in last place in my House Guest Ranker! Is that a problem with my ranker or what? She’s just not winning anything or doing well in competitions, even though she’s playing the game great. Perhaps I will need to update the ranker somehow, but I don’t know how. Adam guessed – what a lucky guy! I’m thrilled it wasn’t Chelsia winning HoH. Please let Adam nominate James and Chelsia – if anyone wants to ‘break up a couple” – that was James’ excuse for getting rid of Matt, so now let the other side use it as their excuse to get rid of him!

03/18/08 – Episode 16 – We Need a Miracle – Natalie is a mean gossip. But she’s in 1st Place in my House Guest Ranker, so I guess it’s working for her. And considering she’s never won HoH (just 2 PoVs), that’s fairly impressive. James is stupid. Letting the power go to his head and insisting he know who didn’t vote to return him – that’s like something Parker would do. I give Sheila a lot of credit for orchestrating another power move and getting her ass off of the block. Very sorry to see Matty up, though. I think that James will piss people off (and not just Natalie) with this move, and he will be a target for sure next week or the week after. And then lying about why he put Matt up – because of his tie with Natalie my ass! But Sheila is right that everyone needs to play for him/herself. It was sad that no one (especially Adam) would help or support her. So she possibly should “switch sides” and go with James and Chelsia and Sharon now (that’s my prediction, too). At least they saved her this week.

03/16/08 – Episode 15 – You’re Like Jesus Up There – If James was really smart, he’d have made some deals or something, instead of just “going for revenge” against Ryan and Sheila. It’s too predictable, and play like that never wins. Obviously I can’t predict Ryan to win it all right now, since he’s nominated again! Let’s go back to Sharon, whom I want to like and I do like, if only she were on the right side!

03/12/08 – Episode 14 – If You’re Not With Me, You’re Against Me – Well, that sucked BIG TIME! Damn! After getting James out of the house, and then finding out America voted (like me) to bring back Alex, the stupid, stupid, stupid (infinity) house guests picked to bring back James! Are they stupid? Yes, they are stupid. Not all of them – Natalie though, especially, for making a stupid last-second decision that prevented a 4-4 tie. And Sharon, my former favorite, for also voting that way. I don’t know what would have happened with a tie, but damn… I have to get over this. Now… prior to that, why would Sheila go and tell Natalie about Matt kissing Sharon? She is a gossip and although she’s good at scheming, sometimes she’s just stupid (sorry, there’s that word again). Interestingly, they had separate sequester houses – I guess the producers had, all along, planned to bring back an evicted house guest. Oh yeah, and one more complaint – WHY can’t the house guests KEEP IT CLEAN at least for the live show? This is the only cast in all of BB history that keeps cursing during the live show! What’s their problem? Oh yeah, I forgot, they’re stupid!

03/11/08 – Episode 13 – Penises Stick Together – You knew that was going to be my title right after Sharon said it, didn’t you?  So did I. I was surprised that Ryan was favoring Josh over Matty, and more surprised when he took the $10K from Sheila. I surprised myself by agreeing with Sheila’s clever analysis of the situation of the 4 against 4, just based on Chelsia’s comment about her being a single mom (at least it was edited to look like that was how she figured it out). She was right and I was SO happy to see the plan to back door Matty (which I actually thought was a good idea at first) fail. Especially even MORE happy when James was nominated! I hope he gets evicted because Sharon, although she’s in the 4 against my favorite players Matt, Ryan (technically in the middle but now against them), and Adam, is still my number 1 favorite player. I can still not predict her to win, however, because she’s a target now and she’s still nominated, and you never know what will happen. This episode was the best of the season to date!

03/09/08 – Episode 12– I’ll Be Your Bitch For the Week – I figured out why the Big Brother official website was changed – CBS standardized all their websites to look the same. Basically, if you go to the Survivor website, it looks just like the Big Brother one. I’m all for standardization, but why get rid of the Polls? That was fun voting on who your favorite house guests were, and who you thought was going to win. Oh well. Ryan’s nominations were good and strategic, but I hate to see Sharon go up on the block. I can no longer predict her to win, since she is clearly very smart and competitive. She will be probably evicted soon anyway. I like the Crew alliance, except I wish James weren’t in it. Obviously I am hoping Sharon wins the PoV or somehow Chelsia is evicted instead.

03/05/08 – Episode 11 – From Couples Show to Singles Show – Really, Really, Really, Really – I think I’m exhausted from all the manipulations of the House Guest Ranker! More exhausted than the House Guests. Anyway, as I predicted, the show is now singles. I don’t know why James called out Matty on his promises to both couples – a stupid move, if you ask me. James is just making another enemy. One house guest will return! Please PLEASE let it be ALEX!

03/04/08 – Episode 10 – You’re Gonna Pull My Fat Ass? Josh continues his power trip – he seems like someone who never wants to admit he’s wrong. Natalie is a big nag – I guess none of this is news, huh? Sharon is like the only normal one in the house, plus she is smart. She’s my favorite right now. I am guessing that the Mystery Sound will indicate when the couples will split up. I wonder why no one else has figured this out yet – I don’t hear or read the live feeds, so I don’t know if they are talking about how there are only 5 couples and that generally means 5 weeks left – which is only 2 months instead of 3. It’s so obvious that I don’t know if it’s right!

03/02/08 – Episode 9 – Princess of the Day – Josh is acting a bit obnoxious, as he has shown he can do in the past. Natalie is getting on my nerves too, although I like Matt a lot.

02/27/08 – Episode 8 – A Wicked Haahd Decision – I finally remembered finally about the women wearing bathing suits – they agreed to that in the food competition 2 episodes ago. Is James riding a bike around the WORLD or just around the United States? All the places he mentioned were in the US. Oh well. Sorry to see Alex go, not too sorry to see Amanda go. I’m wondering what the new twist is going to be. I think maybe the evicted house guests are going into a SECOND house where they will compete also, somehow. Except that Neil left the show, so they are one short. Perhaps, instead, the evicted house guests will get to split up and one of them can re-enter the house. Or possibly they can re-couple outside the house and re-enter the house as a different couple? That would REALLY throw my House Guest Ranker into a tailspin!

02/26/08 – Episode 7 – The Hudson River Virus? – Turns out that it’s a “product placement” reference to Jericho, another CBS show (as were the props from the show during the PoV competition. I thought it had something to do with Amanda’s and Allison’s illnesses, and really thought they were faking for some reason. But I guess I was wrong. Very strange. How can James smoke and be someone who rides his bicylcle across the country? That doesn’t make sense. Sharon turns out to be a bit of a gossip – I had higher hopes for her. Why were the girls wearing bathing suits during the PoV Ceremony? I didn’t quite get that one. It’s cold here in LA.

02/24/08 – Episode 6 – Let’s Not Watch the Oscars, Shall We? – I had to watch this episode on video on the CBS website, because it was scheduled against the Oscars. Not a smart move, CBS. Anyway, did the Food Competition seem familiar? If so, it was practically the exact same competition they just had last Thursday night on Survivor! Except for fish, they used balls or sandbags, or something else – I forget. Anyway, Sheila and Allison were stupid to come clean about their Lesbian lie to Chelsia during the week that she is a HoH. But it didn’t affect the nominations. Note to Joshuah – no, you are NOT straight. Julie said the house guests would be in the house for 3 months – so something surprising is coming up. My only guess is that they will eventually split the couples into individuals. They have to, or else the show will be over in 6 weeks.

02/20/08 – Episode 5 – The First Real Eviction – This was a better show tonight, mostly because of all the conflict and controversy, even if Joshuah went a bit too far. I am liking Sharon a lot more – she seems level headed. Glad to see Jen / Parker go – mostly because of Parker but also Jen because she lied to her boyfriend Ryan. I wish I knew who was the single vote to keep Jen / Parker- can’t find it anywhere on the web or the official site.

02/19/08 – Episode 4 – Neil Left the Game – WTF? “For personal reasons” or “to attend to a family emergency” or some other crap like that. WTF? Monica didn’t even leave BB2 when her cousin died in 9/11! It’s bad enough they make it a couples game to throw my House Guest Ranker stuff off. Now I am completely confused as to how to score people! It’s annoying! I have to split up the 2 couples involved (Joshuah / Neil and Jacob / Sharon) into 4 individual people – and score them separately  - that’s the only way I can think of to do it.

Back to the “game”, or such as it is, annoying as hell this season… Alex is more and more my favorite and Amanda is a bitch. Parker is so immature and such a cry-baby… I can’t stand him.

02/17/08 – Episode 3 – The Hooded Warrior – I was actually going to call this episode “My Father Hung Himself” until that other quote came up. Anyway, still not liking this season – is anyone out there liking it? Too confusing to have couples whose strategies depend on one another. Like when the 2 guys made an alliance, and oh yeah, we better tell our female partners about it. How about deciding things as a couple? I don’t think even they have figured it out! Also, with only 7 teams left, that’s 7 weeks left til the finish – is this “Big Brother Lite”? How will this last 3 months? It won’t. Julie lied when she said “3 months” in the first episode. Also, another complaint – where are the “Love ‘Em or Leave ‘Em” Polls on the Big Brother official website? There aren’t any! Big Brother LITE, I tell you!

Anyway, Allison is so immature that she makes Sheila look like an actual adult. It’s Allison’s fault the secret of the relationship came out, whether she wants to believe it or not.

02/13/08 – Episode 2 – Someone Called You a Snake – I’m still not liking the show. I usually don’t like it in the first few weeks, but never after episode 2! The HoH competition was silly, and there are too many house guests (16, now 14) to keep track of, and it’s hard to get to know them all even without the complication of couples.

02/12/08 – Episode 1 – Couples are Announced – I’m not sure how this will play out – so far I don’t like it! I have to re-do some of my ranking stuff and that’s not fun! I will be ranking by couples, since each member of the couple will get the same points. But below, I will still be rating my favorites and least favorite House Guests individually. So far, I like Adam and Amanda more than before; I dislike Alex, Jacob, Matt, and definitely Sheila more than before. Especially Sheila – what a bitch and a complete self-centered, mean person! I hope she gets evicted! Sadly, Adam will go with her.

02/08/08 – Pre-Show – House Guests Announced: Here are my pre-show opinions of the house guests. It’s fun, after the season is over, to compare them with how they really were. Unfortunately I’m having a hard time forming detailed opinions without much to go on (although I was able to do it in seasons past). After watching the video “preview” of the house guests, I don’t think I like ANY of them! Except for possibly Jacob and Allison.

Adam – Seems full of himself, especially on the commercial airing currently. Mr. “Has His Own Label”.

Allison – Seems nice but maybe too nice. Maybe a goody-two-shoes. A gambling addiction and won/lost $5 million? How is that even possible?

Amanda – Attractive and seems nice. Everyone assumes she’s “deaf”? I don’t get it.

Chelsia – Cute and seems like a nice person.

Jacob – Seems like a nice and normal guy, so what is he doing on this show? And what’s with his left eye – lazy or not?

James – Very very strange, but he likes it that way. I don’t. Looks like he’s starving for attention.

Jen – Seems outgoing and like a good person. Teaching Special Ed isn’t easy and not for everyone. Seems like the nicest girl there.

Joshuah – Looks like Leo DiCaprio and I hate the “h” at the end of his name. Seems like an obnoxious kind of guy. He says he “bi” but if he’s “bi”, then I am the Queen of England.

Matt – A former Fear Factor contestant, who was probably recruited and didn’t have to audition, so we automatically don’t like him. Plus he seems snobby and has horse teeth. Need I say more?

Natalie – For someone “religious”, she is sure showing a lot of booby in that photo! Oh, I hear she was a stripper for 5 years. She likes animals too. If it weren’t for the bible thumping stuff, I think I’d like her a lot.

Neil – Good looking (at least his photo was – he’s not in person), gay, and seems successful. Another snob?

Parker – Seems even stranger than any of the others. The hair has to go. He is butt ugly too.

Ryan – Seems down-to-earth if not exactly a brain. Probably the most normal?

Sharon – Might seem shallow to some, but her favorites are similar to mine. I like her so far. She seems smart in the video.

Sheila – Seems like the most interesting one of all. A former Penthouse Pet of the Year and the oldest house guest. She’s gotta be one of my favorites.
