Ø BIG BROTHER WEB DIRECTORY EXCLUSIVE: I MET ERIKA AND JOSH!Today I was in Hollywood to wash my car and get a haircut and I stopped at Denny's on Sunset Blvd for lunch. When I sat down at my table, I looked up and who is directly in front of me, but Erika from Big Brother 4 and Josh from Big Brother 1!!! I couldn't help staring at them, and even though I tried to read some magazines during my meal - I couldn't concentrate. (I admit to being star-struck even though they are not exactly stars). I didn't even know they knew each other since they are from different seasons. They both look really good, by the way.
At the end of my meal, I went by them and apologized for staring - I told them I recognized them from "the show". They looked confused and then I said I was a big fan of Big Brother. It turns out they are on another show called "Kill Reality" which I had heard of but wasn't watching (until now, that is) - it runs on E! and a bunch of reality stars (including both of them and others from Survivor and other reality shows) are filming a movie. Josh said he was the director (of the movie inside the show, I guess). (I went to the Kill Reality website, and neither one is mentioned in the cast, so I am a bit confused about it.)
I introduced myself and told Josh how I had met him before (during the open call for Season 2) and he didn't remember me (obviously) but remembered that day. (I didn’t mention that two years ago, I had seen Erika driving on Santa Monica Boulevard in a big red SUV). I said I had given up on trying to be on the show because I believe they scout for the cast and don't take anyone from videotapes. Erika said she is doing casting now for Survivor and (I think) Amazing Race and she said they get the cast from everywhere - they scout, they look at tapes, etc., so "you never know".
I admitted to being a big fan of Erika's, and then I said, "not that I wasn't a fan of yours" to Josh. He said, "well, my season was a long time ago.” I said I liked Big Brother 1 because it was more "live" and less edited. He said he wished he could have played the game that Erika played, because Big Brother 1 was a popularity contest (when America voted people off) - I guess he was implying there was no strategy like there is now.
When I mentioned that I used to watch the live feeds the first season, sometimes for hours on end, both he and Erika said that being in the house was "boring". She remembered playing cards with Jack and thinking, is anyone watching this thinking it's interesting? She even said, "You don't want to be on there."
We talked about the current season - they both like it - they admitted to liking Kaysar and Howie, and were glad that Eric was kicked off. Erika predicts that Maggie will nominate Kaysar and James tonight, though she said it would be more strategic to nominate Rachel and Howie. |
